Embroidery Techniques
Embriodery is a process whereby a sewing embroidery machine is used to create designs on textiles using a wide range of stitching patterns.
Heat Transfer Printing Techniques
In heat transfer printing, a design is printed in reverse on a special release paper using a plastisol-based ink. The printed image is then placed against the desired substrate and subjected to high temperature (~ 375ºF) and pressure for a short period of time (12-15s). After the substrate has cooled, the release paper is peeled away.
Sublimation Printing Techniques
Digital sublimation process is commonly used for decorating apparel, towels and mugs.
In sublimation printing, digital design is printed onto sublimation transfer sheets using liquid gel ink and placed on a heat press along with the substrate to be sublimated. Heat press process (350F) is required to transfer sublimation dyes at the molecular level from the image on the paper to the substrate, using a combination of time, temperate and pressure.
Sublimation process is a nearly permanent, high resolution, full color print as dyes are infused into the substrate at the molecular level. The prints will not crack, fade or peel from the substrate under normal conditions.
Silk Screen Printing Techniques
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. A squeegee (rubber Blade) is moved across the screen stencil, forcing ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas. The open spaces are where the ink be will transferred onto the substrate.
One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicoloured image or design.
